East Central Ia | I agree that all urea pre plant is not a good nitrogen plan.
I have moved from all fall nh3 to a split program.
I put nh3 with n-serve on in the spring. This year 80-120 units.
I put 35 units on surface banded as 32% on my CoC and my terminated cereal rye cover crop pre emerge.
I then came back at V10~ Or bigger (some was 5' + tall this year) with 46-69 units urea where I don't need sulfur... Manure ground.
And the rest got 150# of a 50/50 Urea-AMS blend. So it got a 50-0-0-20s
I will range from 175-225 or so units of N with a yield goal of 225-250+
I Vrt'd DAP this spring so anywhere from 0-30 units of N there as well... But that's hard to account for with Vrt so I don't plan for it unless the field is pretty uniform.
