Subject: Soybean roots (pics)

central ND/SD border

This is the first year I went out and dug up some plants, here are some results. Any problems you notice? Which one is best?
1. Corn last year, disked before planting, planted May 17
2. 3rd crop after CRP, no-til this year, Soybeans last year, disked last year before planting, planted June 2
3. 1st crop after CRP, disked 5 times, planted June 7
4. No-tilled into CRP, planted June 7
5. No-tilled ground since 2007, Barley last year, planted May 16
6. No-tilled ground since 2007, Barley last year, planted May 23
7. Cultivated (12in sweeps) before planting, Barley last year planted May 19
8. Extra credit, No-til silage corn, Barley last year planted May 7
