According to what happened to one of my step kids they must be crushed and in a bag to escape the open container business. He also was speeding when he got stopped and they were in open boxes. HE collects them and donates them to a homeless woman for her to sell. Funny thing is all the pro drunk drivers smash their cans and throw them in the trunk or pickup box. I talked to a retired attorney at coffee this morning and his statement about this is buy a fancy cooler with provisions for a padlock and lock it ---------then when asked tell them you dont have access to the contents and they arent yours they belong to a adult. They they will seize your high $$$$ cooler and make that a time consuming issue.
