Medford, OK | Some of you remember about me posting about CRP renewals getting rejected a couple of months ago. Have been asked to farm 100 acres (belongs to grandpa) 80 in CRP/20 in Bermuda (bad stand). Called and talked to FSA, we can not do anything to it ie....mowing,burning,etc until October 1st of this year. Its been in contract for 10 years, has a few terraces on it but really a nice farm. What should be my battle plans as far as getting this farm shaped up for a crop of corn in 2017? Im open to all options but would like to stick with no-till and don't really like burning (burn away my cover that I would like to have for the corn crop). Will be pulling soil tests sometime this fall. Let me know and thanks in advance.
