Central IA
So as stewards of the land it's ok to just send our soil down the river?? Imagine if we had gotten a 5 inch rain? They'd have both of our waterways full! How arrogant can some farmers be if they think it's ok to wash their soil and jeapordize the food fuel and fiber security of future generations?? In 100 years everybody on this sight will be dead and decomposing, yet our impact on the soil and environment as a whole will linger. What legacy do you want to leave? Iowa has lost well over 50% of its original top soil, but everything is hunky dory huh? So when we build and maintain a waterway on OUR property we shouldn't be upset when it gets screwed up by someone else? You have a messed up view of property rights. With ever stricter regulations being sent down by multiple agencies, and with the dmww suing 3 counties in Iowa, it's time to sit up and take action. We have to do a better job, otherwise we'll be forced to. So sorry it grinds my gears when a fellow farmer WASTES soils away for absolutely no reason, especially when their negligence affects our property directly. Just because you don't give a crap about your soil or the environment doesn't mean we should all be as careless as you. How big of you to knock people out over words, you're quite the tough guy.
