Eastern Iowa

I was wondering if the tops out grew the brace roots,  any idea how tall the corn usually is when the brace roots make contact with the ground. I will look at some corn standing better to see if brace roots are in the ground . Like I said previously corn is exceptionally tall this year. Also this is second year corn in a corn, corn, bean rotation and I've got no insecticide on it. It's a Dupont HX2 trait. 2 inches of rain doesn't usually result in this. Nobody has said if the roots look adequate. Im concerned about root worm and trying to decide if I need to be applying insecticide to second year corn. My insecticide salesman says definaitly. I see no evidence of root feeding. Do you?
