I wonder if you realize just how much slope some of us farm on. Yes a cover will provide better infiltration and hold the soil but what about after you harvest a crop such as soybeans? Even though we sow wheat into most of those acres we seldom get enough growth to prevent erosion if there were no terraces.
Exactly. We had our bad flood here in December. One field in particular got hit property bad. We had combined beans off of it and planted wheat. There was water a foot and a half or 2 feet deep across the entire field except on the terraces. The terraces kept it from running. I can't even imagine what kind of holy mess we would have had without them.
So let's keep stirring the gooo pot!!
