You hit is Lucas, your infiltration comment is spot on. It is not the amount of rain you get that counts.....it is the amount that you get to soak in. Water that gets to the the ditch is useless. Rearranging dirt wrecks all the infiltration structures. I can remember dad and grandpa talking one summer years ago. "Yeah, we got a nice rain, but it came too fast and alot of it ran off"
