Subject: RE: corn on corn

Northern Illinois
Apply dry fertilizer behind the combine.

On rolling ground I spring strip till with 150-180 units nh3. Apply another 30-50 units N as carrier for chemicals. I spring strip till because I have not had success getting bar through corn stalks in the fall. I plant this corn last so N has been on a few weeks and never had an issue with burn.

Flat ground same dry fertilizer behind combine. Hit everything with a case 330TT. I do that whenever I have a chance to like on Sundays or when dryer is full etc. After harvest FIL starts with a minimum till ripper and goes as long as mother nature will allow. I start with fall applied nh3 being the ripper. Reason I do this is with being 100% corn I have got caught in the past with having untouched stalks on April 15. I can make sure everything is at least hit once so if the ground doesn't get ripped I will just go in and turbo till in the spring and plant.
