Western OK | Are there no terraces there? Just curious, I love seeing all the pictures posted on this sight but I've always wondered why there aren't terraces on alot of these fields that have pretty much the same if not more slope to them as ours? All of the ground we farm is terraced and our "average" rainfall is around 26 inches a year. I hate them but I know it would be a nightmare without them cause when they break it's a disaster. We've been pretty much notill for 8 years, not because I particularly like it, but mostly for erosion and time savings. I would rather be sweeping then spraying (I don't really enjoy running the sprayer) but with my job, cows, and erosion concerns notill has been a good move for us. Here's some pics of a couple of our places. The first is our flatest. Still 10 terraces on 120 acres. The second in an 80 I bought recently.
