Well, actually, I don't consider strip-till to be "No-Till". No-Till means No-Till. As I understand, strip-till involves tillage in the seedbed. However, I am not here to argue semantics of "what is and is not No-Till". I think your REAL point is the amount of erosion that your neighbors are causing is unacceptable. And I think we can all agree on that. The question is: what is the best solution to prevent - or at least minimize - this erosion. And the answer to that will vary based on soil type, region, climatic conditions, etc. If a farmer has as much erosion as shown in your pics, he needs to address it - and ask for help if needed. The alternative is that regulatory agencies will step in and "help us to address it". And I don't think we really want that to happen. |
