NE Iowa | As 630 said check with your FSA, but if you want to "spot" clip weeds now you'll need to request permission and mark on a map approximately where you want to clip.
Otherwise, I thought it was Aug. 4th you could clip without permission. That's why you need to ask and know before clipping.
I'll be checking with my FSA office again to see if it's Aug. 1st as I have some that needs clipped and decided not to waste my time trying to spot clip it. Just took out some of the worst thistle patches.
