| Guy I used to work for grew wheat where he wanted to tile. He was able to see the tile lines in the wheat and when combining he would raise or lower the head to make a mark and then later we would come back and probe them to find them, his marks usually made it pretty easy. The area we were in was a fairly heavy clay and without tile the wheat really suffered in all but the driest years.
