Central IL | If you are patterning it and it already has laterals, they must not be working. We don't really worry about small tile if it doesn't go onto the neighbor. On the smaller tile (6 and smaller) probly faster to just get the plow going and fix holes if you cut through some that is still working. If they are working good, a hole will show up. Like you said, the bigger tile are easy to find and generally someone knows they are there. Blowing through a 12" clay with every lateral would be a problem, cutting through an old 4" clay where you are putting laterals anyway shouldn't cause any trouble. Probe and hoe is how we locate. Bigger the tile the faster you can probe it. Usually can move across a field pretty quick. Don't take too big of jumps from one spot to the next, and only look at the last 2 flags you have set. | |
