Texas/New Mexico Stateline | Todd, I'm figuring unless we start growing corn more consistently I'll probably just cut it with a platform. It won't be very tall or thick, I think I can just nip it off under the ear. And use milo fingers to keep from dropping ears. I hope they'll be big and heavy.
I can't see what empty rows will hurt on a corn head. I wouldn't want to disconnect them because you may want to cut over one row to the left or right.
Lee, I have not seriously considered other crops other than just looking into it.
