Here and There | No biggie. If everyone used fungicides cash rents would go up and the supply of cheap grain would increase driving the market even lower. I like less competition. I'll continue setting yield records "here" on my farms though using a ground rig to apply them correctly as part of my more intensive management strategy.
On a more serious note, pick out your best 20 acres of corn and soybeans and have a neighbor or someone nearby with a Hagie or true high clearance rig apply a premium fungicide (dual mode of action) @ 20 gallons per acre at early R3 for soybeans and at R1-R2 stage for corn. Under disease pressure or even no disease pressure, do a side-by-side test and see what you think. Use a weigh wagon or scales on a grain cart. I promise you that you can't see a 20 bushel increase in 200+ bushel corn from the combine seat without weighing it.
If you try to compare using a helicopter or airplane, then I'm sorry for your loss.
