ecmn | are you in a climate that you have to rake to get dry enough to bale? if you don't have to rake it then make the windrow for the bale pickup. like others said every time you move it you are losing leaves. on a small square its easy to run preservative and bale when its a little tough. put up 10k bales a year like that always had great hay. small squares are very easy to be safe. big rounds and squares and its easy to have a stack of heat.
its tough, today its just a little to wet, dry warm over night and tomorrow morning its already to dry so when you rake it leaves are falling off.
try to rake when its a little wet or tough and you are dragging a bunch of sand in the hay reducing quality. | |
