I am about 30 miles east of you. We used to make about 40,000 small squares per year, but now only make about 5000. Most of our acres go in the silo now, but still do a little dry hay for heifers and calves. Mow on day 1 (use a Hesston disbine with steel on steel conditioner). Ted on day 2 (Kuhn tedder). Rake around 10 am on day 3 (Pequea twin rotor rake). If it doesn't get ready to bale on day 3, then we rake again around 10 am on day 4. | |
