se wi | I'm a 40 year vet too and I'd never ted the same day it was cut because it lays too heavy on the ground. We ted early in the morning the day after cutting so it is dry enough to fluff up and lay much higher on the stubble. Air movement is double at 8 inches off the ground vs only 4" and will enhance drying. We cut as wide as possible to get the best drying on that first day. Tedding is an art of low rpm and perfect ground speed. I always enjoy watching guys at farm shows pounding the crap out of freshly cut alfalfa......just hammering it into tiny bits of green........nice! | |
