I like to cut in the morning and ted it about 4 hours later. I don't touch it the day after cutting. Then the next day I rake between 10:00 AM and noon. Usually start baling around 1:30 or so. In my opinion timing the raking right when the dew has just burned off is most important to retaining leaves.
Need input on making alfalfa hay!
