Interesting, I usually roll ours after they are up, as I've experienced too many emergence issues when I roll them before the come up. Just got mine sprayed and hope to roll them this week. They are currently 6-8 inches tall. V8 - I only roll them for combining reasons, not for any other reason, including stressing them for yield, although that's fine if it helps.

Edit: Your picture and post will make me leave a few stips to check. We have been very dry here as well.

JR, like you,usually I roll shortly after emergence as well. But this year has been so dry lots of beans struggled to come up. Deeper planted beans are up and at 1st trilofiate but shallower ones are only just emerging....in the same field. That's why I waited so long.

We never wait to roll! Better seed to soil contact and better for the pre emerge chemicals. We always see the complete opposite of your picture.

Roll within 24 hours typically.
