Just leave a few check strips in different locations throughout the field. They don't have to be very big, maybe the width of the planter and 100-150 feet long.

Most adjusters and crop insurance companies understand when it's time to plant, especially this time of year, you gotta get it done and not wait however long for their approval. If it's as bad as you say, they'll see that in the check strips when they do make it out to document it.
