For us we check it the night before right before the dew is coming on. Then if it is ready we try to start to rake mid morning as the dew is around 80% off. If we rake it too dewy it doesn't dry out right. Then bale it the same day most of the time, depending on the day and how it is finishing out, usually 2 to 3 hours later, but there are times when it works right after the rake and other days it is a day later. With the balers we have today, it really cuts down on the leaf loss. | |
