The lesson I learned in a combine fire was that a fire extingusher is useless if the fire is on a vertical surface. The belts were burning. The stuff from the fire extingusher would knock out the blaze and then fall off the belts. The belts would then reignite. The 20# extingusher didn't do much good. Combine was totaled before the fire department arrived.
