Nightshades are toxic but usually not a problem, I know one guy that killed cows with them, lots of them in hay. Cows will try to pick around them.

Buffalo bur is toxic too. I guess cows know better but I used to get sick calves from it, looks like pneumonia and early signs of pinkeye, took me a while to figure it out. Now the sprayer stays on the ATV, and I seem to always be running out of 2,4d. Last year I had some bad spots of it in milo, custom hay guy made hay out of it, I gave him the hay, he sold it and no cows sick. This stuff was at least half buffalo bur, guess maybe the toxins go away in hay.
