Growing conditions must be really good for you, you have a hybrid that naturally tillers more, or you need to plant thicker.

It may give you a con tassel. If it does the challenge will be keeping it from going through the corn head.

I've never seen where suckers reduce yield because the corn plant will take the nutrients out of the sucker and redistribute them to the main ear.
