Upper Midwest | Sorry, Gary you already proved me wright when you named several feeders by name that would not be buying calves betting on the fat market to go up. You coming on here and telling every one the max price they can pay and break even is rather simple too figure out. Your telling them "Please do not bid any higher or I won't be able to buy any" hence talking the market down. As many or more have made money by gambling on the markets as have lost. And as far as going broke to never feed again, well some of the richist people in this country have went bankrupt several times only to come back and make more. What you lost is change to many, even on this forum. My Dad always said "If you don,t like to gamble, you best not farm". What you are wanting to do by having every pound contracted is just what the packer wants. | |
