Like others have said, looks like smartweed. Also as they have said, most of the time, not a problem but when conditions are right.....

I picked up an old textbook at a library book sale a few years back called "poisonous plants of the US and Canada". I remembered my Dad having a copy. Reading that thing, it is a wonder animals survive as some common place have shown toxicity at various times under certain conditions. Even bermudagrass has a section in the book.

I wonder at times too if people blame seed/feed on sickness when in reality it was worms or something else especially in the coffee shop or telling others :). I know I have been guilty of overlooking the obvious at times only to have the vet cut them open and me realize how stupid I am.
