I planted about 3 fields (Totaling about 150 acres) into varying sizes and state of wheat that had already headed. Tall rye may be different. I was using a 1250 Case/IH planter and the marker is pretty heavy. I had no problem in any of the situations seeing the mark. In the really green wheat (Sprayed but not yet turning color) I actually planted after dark and could see the mark.
