Subject: Killing Cereal Rye in PP soybean burndown

Northwest Ohio
Had incomplete control of cereal rye in corn stubble going to beans. No till. Used 24 ounces RUP, plus authority first, metribuzin, and 3/4 pint 2,4-D and two surfactants in mix. Applied to rye that was 16 inches tall on April 26. The green rye that remains was clearly stunted and is mostly just above knee high, with immature heads. Will be cleaned up with RUP and Select this week. Can't help but think the remaining green rye is using needed moisture. Was expecting better cover crop kill when we switched from from annual ryegrass to cereal. Thinking about using gramoxone next year. Maybe higher rate of RUP ? Looking for advice. Thanks.
