I do agree that the cooler the summer soil, the better chance at higher yields. One interesting thing of note around here though is that the folks with an adequate irrigation water supply can grow better corn with their pivots than with drip. They've decided it's a humidity thing and that the plants like being washed in water. That is here in a desert like climate though and the drip still has merit because most places it still stretches our diminishing water resource. | |
