Stinger herbicide would be my choice for thistle control. However you will be limited on what you can plant next year. Rotation back to soybeans is 18 months. http://ws.greenbook.net/Docs/Label/L12803.pdf
There are generic versions of the active ingredient in Stinger (clopyralid) that are less expensive.
Even as effective as Stinger is on thistles it will still probably not get them all with one application especially this time of year. However it will definitely make the thistles not competitive this year.
A followup application of a good dose of dicamba this Fall after harvest will really help eliminate them.
