Subject: Replace or repair

I just pulled the rad from my JD4440 because it was weeping top and bottom. Is it better to buy a new one for about $1000.00CDN at JDparts or is it safe to have it recored? The fins are mashed a bit from general abuse with air hoses etc. Inside looks bad with most of the tubes almost totally covered with scale. I guess I didn't look after the antifreeze well enough. Although we bought it new in 1979 and I don't believe it has ever been out. Does anyone know of a jobber in Canada where you can get JD replacements?

Thanks
