Orange County NY | We put these doors on a old shed and there is no heat under them. They have been through 2 winters and the weather stripping has not been ripped off yet. Not sure how your winters are but we get our share of cold and snow. These doors have automatic openers on them and I`ve opened them with snow blown right up the front of them 12" or better.
I like your idea if it is new construction. Not so sure I would start bashing out old concrete to do it.
