NW Illinois Stephenson county | Years ago, the first time I had my farm grid soil sampled, before my crops guy gave me the results he asked me if I had any problem areas. I pointed out 2 areas that I could not control the giant foxtail. One was a small hill side and one small area was on bottom ground. The sample results showed very low pH like in the low 5's. After limestone was applied the foxtail problem disappeared! I would guess still too low pH might be your giant foxtail problem.
