Texas/New Mexico Stateline | I have no problem with alternate viewpoints either I like seeing all different viewpoints. But a poster insinuating that we are foolish or have no right to complain about dry weather because we don't no- till really rubs me the wrong way since my family has been farming in this great American desert since 1908.
Profitability is the most important aspect if we are going to continue farming. Sustainability means staying in the business and being as conservation-minded as possible while still making money so we can continue to do this year after year.
No-till maybe a part of that but it is no guarantee no matter what the agronomists say.
I'm going to continue to share practices that I have found useful in my operation and I hope all the no-tillers will do the same without being rude or insulting.
