I wonder what a fall pass with a VT unit would do to help get the lime that is on top to incorporate over the winter. The pH of the farm is definitely improved over where I started 4 years ago...5.1 or so to around 5.9-6.1 now. I'd like to see if the soil would loosen up with higher Ca saturation. I have another low CEC farm that has a Ca/Mg that is around 75% Ca/15% Mg. The soil is much more mellow, but yields have been nearly the same.
