Subject: I have farmed sand

I have farmed sand and I still believe in sufficiency, not base saturation. I know some of you really follow Kinsey, but I dont see any research out there showing that he is correct and ample research saying that he is wrong. But to each his own, you can do what you wish. I didnt want the original poster to think that he must spend a lot of money to balance his Ca and Mg.

I know that golf courses used to used the base saturation approach but have gone away from it. A golf green is made of almost pure sand so if the ratio idea doesnt work there, then I doubt it works on corn and beans. Here is an article on turf: http://gsrpdf.lib.msu.edu/ticpdf.py?file=/2000s/2009/090510.pdf
