Subject: What happens when the state kills crops?

perryton, tx
The highway dept was out spraying the ditches and I've noticed that in places they wiped out a decent amount of whatever crop is growing next to the road. Luckily none of it was mine but there's a milo field where it's dead about 50 ft out into the field and further down a cotton field where it looks like it's wiped out several hundred feet in. I assume in this situation a guy has to essentially go after the government for damages which looks to me like would be a tough row to hoe.
