Are you sure wheat isn't grown there because a guy can't afford to plant wheat on dirt that will grow big corn yields? In Ohio there seems to be less wheat every year because the profit is not as good as corn or beans even in our marginal dirt.
Wheat gets planted on poor ground here because corn or soybeans make you more money on good dirt.
