That's alright I'll stick to what I know works. I'd much rather raise 220-240 corn then 185 like I was with 7 yr coc notill. I bet when done I don't spend anymore money then cover crop guys do. I've investigated it and seed isn't cheap, plus extra trip to put it on plus another shot of chem. You keep preaching I tried and have no interest in going back. I will say it again which you keep missing I do use notill in rotation and on dry land, I only use tillage on long term coc irrigated.
The same here.. No-till may work well over lots of the country but not everywhere....For over 30 years I've watched the best farmers in my area try no-till corn with mostly poor results.....They can't afford to take a 25-50 bpa per acre corn yield hit every year just to say that they no-till...They have the best planters,go to no-till conferences,etc....They do make no-till beans and wheat work for them but not corn..
Do we wish no-till corn worked here..Heck yes we do but so far it hasn't.. |
