I'm west of the Mississippi and we are in one of those dry pockets.  You don't have to drive far to see areas with too much rain.  We haven't had a good soaker since April.  We've had several events come through but a tenth or two just doesn't cut it with the heat we've had on and off.  The rains we've had don't meet the moisture in the soil anymore.  If all the expert weathermen are right for the summer, this may not bode well.
