Nothing wrong with trying a differant lab. I would take more tissue samples same day same time and ship off to the different labs. If they both come back low then you know it s not the lab. As for testing one sample doesn't do much for me. If I get 5 or more tests saying the same thing then it's worth looking at.
If it really is deficient then the manganese is getting tied up with something in the soil. If that's the case I would band it next to row and test that to see what happens.
That's the next step to confirm my suspicions. Was going to wait until later in the season or full flower on soybeans and see if I could afford to spend a few extra hundred dollars on testing.
The part that gets me of the all the test results is the corn yielded very well. So what if the test says you need more MN?? Chasing a number on the test and a perfect looking test is cool and all but that's Midwest's opinion of what it should be. |
