Subject: Glyphosate on sweet corn

Central IL
I have a small garden with a couple rows of sweet corn that are getting some really tall grass in them. I can't hoe it because it's too close to the stalks obviously. I was told that I could spray the grass with glyphosate and it wouldn't hurt the corn as long as I didn't get any on the leaves. Has anyone ever done this? I'm a little skeptical and just looking for some advice on the best way to get rid of the grass.
