Subject: Corn Tissue Samples Threw The Season Results

The post below about tissue samples got me motivated to dig out this data that I never got around to sharing it last fall.

Last year at my place the AgriGold Agronomist pulled tissue samples threw out the year on one research plot.

For the non Agrigold guys we have 3 different styles of corn.

6499 - family F - Semi flex ear
6579 - family H - fixed ear
6533 - family B - flex

All fertilizer was applied preplant/fall before and was dry broadcast spread crossways of the plot and chiseled in. Only pass across the field once the corn was up was a Laudis application with just water as the carrier.

Also attached are yield results that's been posted before.

Year was very wet and cool.

Soil type is Grundy.

Plot is planted back to corn this year.

Soil test attached is from this spring and fertilizer was applied prior to the soil tests. Soil tests also include deeper samples as I was searching for more data to either clear the mind or raise more questions.

Dunno exactly what the take aways are from the data other then I think Midwest's test for mn isn't accurate and have compared to other labs soil tests.

I was able to keep plenty of K in the plant all season. Low mg in the plant doesn't seem to hurt yield.
Boron fell off after Pollination.

Prob getting to the point where water is the limiting factor and there's not much I can do about that unless I build an irrigation pond.
