Around here it has become almost a noxious weed. It chokes up drainage ditches and grows out into several feet of water around most ponds, making it hard to fish. It is totally unmanageable.



Sounds like the kind of seed you want in a waterway. Someone complained to me how the reed canarygrass filled up and silted his waterway up...and I thought...what a perfect grass for keeping the soil on the farm and catching the soil. Grows well in a wet area too...waterways are usually wet.
