Strathcona, mn | Reed canary is grown for seed and harvested here. Usually they'll straight cut above the green when the heads are mature but not dropping seed. The seed is very wet at this point and must be air dried. Usually it is spread on Quonset floors very thin and air dried with fans circulating air and manually stirring the seed. Your machine should do fine. Just going to take some fine tuning. Don't fill hopper very full or you won't get it out. Reed seed was worth good money here a couple of years ago. | |
