| Boy it's awfully dry here. I don't know where we'd be without an 1.8 we got over Memorial Day weekend cause that's been all we've had with the exception of a little shower or 2 that don't even register in the rain gauge. Combine that with one of the nicest winters ever with little to no snow and a warm windy June and it's not good at all. I'm glad I culled this winter, and was in the market for some bred heifers but they all went too high so someone was watching over me. Cows have all been on ground that wasn't grazed last year but I'm gonna have to move them this upcoming week. Hay crop is anywhere from 1/3 to half of what it normally is, although I did get into one good field of alfalfa last night.
It's so spotty, go a couple miles to the east and they setting pretty good. Your either s have or have not. Lately though, I'm glad we've missed out on some of the systems cause those poor guys got beat by golf ball and baseball size hail.
Just bizarre year so far. Look at the radar and looks like it should be pouring over the top of us but get nothing. Go a couple miles down the road and things look like a green oasis. Things have hung in there pretty decent despite all the heat but things turning pretty quickly today. | |
