Thumb of Michigan
Ran saddle tanks on the tractor, used a hyd centrifugal pump running through a spray monitor. Everything was no till, so very little dust between the tractor and the applicator. Goal was to spray ahead of the coulters so there we could get chems on before any potential disruption from the N applicator, and also it was very easy to see the spray tips from the tractor. Depending on the product being used, it was quite easy to keep the spray out of the whorl if that was required. Ran Greenleaf AI tips if I remember right, and ran relatively low water rates. Usually 6 gpa.

I did have some years where we loaded the saddle tanks (440 ga total) with post chems and ran 500 acres of corn before I needed to refill. Felt it was effective and relatively low cost way to keep fields clean. This was pre RUR corn, usually the target was Canada Thistle, some Sow Thistle, bind weed, hemp dog bane, and maybe some escapes from the premerge chems.
