Probably depends a lot on your area and stage of termination. We've been broadcasting 1 bu./ac but are backing off to ~40 lbs. Planting into mature green rye at that rate is excessive. There's lot of biomass to rye and it doesn't take a lot of plants for it to smother weeds in the spring.
